We bought it to hook my son's X-box 360 up to our cable router, rather than spend $100 on the wireless device. It works fine and found that I don't need to spend $40 on a cable in a store. I will never buy cables in a store again. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Bad, bad, bad cable... Stay away By L. Turk I would have thought that the cable would have been tested before shipping, so I consequently did not test it myself... I feel completely devastated because it took a lot of time and work to run it behind and through heavy furniture, etc. The cost of the cable is a drop in the bucket compared to the loss I'll have to take to run a different cable and do the whole thing over again, for I cannot charge the client for a redo because of a bad cable. I'm hoping that the cable is just badly crimped, for I can fix that and recrimp it without having to start all over again. It even looks like it might have been hand-crimped to begin with. The cable is exactly as it looks- not moulded nor snagless. I would recommend to anyone to stay away from this and do it yourself, or spend a little more money for a better cable... Cheap has turned out to be expensive in this case. This might be one bad one out of a thousand, but that doesn't matter to me because this one defective one has cost me a bundle. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Excellent buy! By Ka Na Encouraged by positive reviews, I tried using these to connect two Airport Extreme Base Stations (AEBS) separated by one floor and about 60 feet apart. The AEBSs were set up extend a 802.11n network wirelessly. Connecting them using these powerline adapters made the speed to drop considerably. I tested transferring a 200 MB file: with AEBSs connected wirelessly the transfer rate was about 13Mbs; with powerline adapters it dropped to 2-3Mbs. I concluded that the wiring inside the house is not suitable for using this technology. Otherwise, the product seems to be a polished product with easy setup. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. These little black boxes will change your life :) By David Molina I was so hesitant to try powerline ethernet, but I am so glad I did. Unpacking the box of contents took longer than the setup itself. It's so easy to setup this little Belkin Powerline AV adaptor. Just plug both adaptors into their respective walls, one cable to your computer, one cable to your router and voila! instant broadband at speeds equal to what I get with my computer directly plugged into the router. I ran the broadband speed test at www.speedtest.net to confirm this. My wife uses the PC downstairs and our apartment is about 2000 square feet. The cable modem is located upstairs at the opposite end of the house. My wireless G router would not reach downstairs, so I wasn't confident that an expensive N router would improve things. If you have any doubts about trying powerline ethernet, with this little Belkin you can put them to rest. I believe that with any normal use of the product (believe it or not, some people use these things over multiple apartments in the same building or neighboring buildings) you will be much happier than with some of the wireless solutions. I currently live in Spain and my broadband provider is ONO. On average we get 18Mbit to 20Mbit downloads and 500Kbps to 1Mbit uploads with ping times around 30-45ms...it's very fast, and I'm impressed this Belkin can keep up with what I'm paying for. With wireless G, I was only getting at most around 6Mbit downloads---so, you can see that wifi can drop your internet speeds significantly... Hope this helps... 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Problem solved! By ceebee100 I recently bought a Playstation 3 for my HDTV which is in the living room downstairs. There is no RJ-45 jack downstairs near my HDTV, so I thought maybe the wireless card on the PS3 would be enough to handle my networking needs. Boy, was I wrong! The wireless on the PS3 was dead slow. I thought about getting a 60ft Cat5 cable and running down the stairs, but that would've been too ugly, so I decided to give the Belkin 200 Powerline a try. That was the best thing I could've done. Steady connections and way faster than wireless. Games download in a flash, video conversations are seamless. Setup was a breeze too...just plug and play! The price is a bit on the high side, but it is totally worth it. See all 20 customer reviews...

Essex This DSL Modem w/Wi-Fi has worked for over 3 years without a burp! I have used the wireless connection that I purchased with this modem on my desktop computer since day 1. In the beginning, I had the Modem hooked up to a 2nd desktop; but since I moved in 6 months ago, the Modem is not hooked up to anything except the phone line, and everything still works flawlessly. I have also used laptops with this modem in addition to the wireless 2Wire brand wi-fi receiver. I had absolutely no problem connecting to my network using the easy to install 2Wire software. This modem was provided as a package with SBC Yahoo when I started using it. I have moved out of their coverage area and it is working flawlessly with a different provider. One last thing I must mention; The 2Wire FIREWALL is perfect! No one outside my network has ever was able to connect to it - not even next door neighbors. When I was in SBC territory I often connected to my neighbors DSL when SBC was down (I lived in a rural area with lots of trees = DSL down more frequently than in a city). It has been the same since I have moved to a different area. My network is rock solid - no one else can connect - but I still have the advantage of being able to connect to at least 5 neighbors now wirelessly during the infrequent times that my DSL is down here in the city. I've had many DSL and Broadband modems over the years (I'm a frequent mover) and after using the 2Wire brand, I'm completely spoiled! I will never use anything else! 12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. How home network setup should have been all along. By Laurence White I struggled off and on for two months to get a DSL modem and a router to work together (tried two different name-brand routers). I spent late nights on Tech Support calls, pushing re-set buttons, re-running install CD's, fiddling with IP addresses, etc. Finally, I gave up in disgust. I got the 2Wire unit, plugged it in and connected the cables, and I was up & running in 8 minutes. Fast access on the desktop and great wireless speed all around the house. The DSL modem is now where it belongs - in the trash. If you want to go wireless without getting an ulcer, this is your unit. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Solid DSL modem By Mr. Pragmatic This modem is usually delivered by ISPs to their customers. The ISPs supply the documentation to get the modem up and running. This modem is typically for sale on Amazon without documentation or installation software. It turns out you don't need any of it. There are a number of references on the internet for getting the modem running. My three year old DSL modem delivered from my ISP starting crashing daily, and sometimes multiple times in an hour. When running, it's download speed was 1.5Mbs. This new 2Wire modem runs at 2.5Mbps and is rock solid. One feature I really like is that you can adjust the wireless power output. At maximum power, we can connect all the way across our house without using a repeater as we had to with the old modem. See all 13 customer reviews...

Solid Load Balancing Option By Cptrmags It's hard to find a load balancing router for a smaller business that is simple and easy to integrate into the network, provides security and the necessary backup connectivity that is beneficial to a business without breaking the bank. Recently, we purchased the Duolinks SW24 2PORT Dual Wan Load Balancing Router for less than $140. It was promptly delivered and easy to setup right out of the box. We didn't have to call in a "pro" to integrate the unit into our network. Basically, over 95% of the work our business processes require internet connectivity through portals and websites. We need a solid router that provides security as well as uninterrupted internet connectivity. This router does the job. We're using it with cable and DSL. The unit easily balances our traffic across these connections. During the few months it has been in service, at least one of the connections has had trouble or failed but with the router in place, it was a seamless blip that did not impact our business. The unit "failed over" to the active connection without interrupting the network. The router is easily configured through a browser interface and has many different functions we are still learning and utilizing. It provides a good firewall for security as well as the ability to block inappropriate traffic. We're extremely happy with our choice and look forward to learning more about the router and its capabilities. All this makes it extremely affordable for the home or small to medium business that doesn't need the complicated Cisco routers and the highly paid contractors needed to install and maintain them. 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Didn't work for me By Jeff W. Eschman I bought this router for our small office... we depend heavily on reliable internet connectivity, and have incoming cable (primary, DHCP) and DSL (backup, PPPoE) connections. Setup was fairly straightforward (I'm no networking expert, but have set up 8 or 10 other routers), and we were up and running in under an hour. I didn't use load balancing, because our cable is much, much faster than the DSL... we'd rather just use that whenever it's available, and failover to the DSL only when the cable goes down. The SW24 seemed to handle link "health checks" and automatic failover just fine. Where we had problems though was on more mundane NAT routing functionality. We had frequent dropped SSL connections and browsing failures (IE "cannot load the page"). Invariably, these were momentary failures, and a browser refresh (or re-logging in to secure sites) would immediately succeed... but when it happens on an hourly basis to multiple users, it's just not tolerable. Syswan tech support was responsive and helpful, and we determined that it was most likely related to a DNS caching problem in the SW24. Passing internet DSN servers (openDNS or Level3) to our DHCP clients (instead of just giving them the router's 192.168.1.1 address as the only DNS server) reduced the frequency of dropped connections, but didn't solve the problem. Tech support suggested a new/beta firmware that allows the router's internal DNS caching to be disabled. This firmware was supposed to be emailed to me, but wasn't, and I decided I was tired of messing with it. So after fooling with this router and tolerating unstable internet connectivity for several weeks, I gave up, returned the SW24, and bought a Peplink 20L. Peplink just worked straight out of the box... much happier with it. Obviously others have had better luck with this router, but for whatever reason, it didn't work reliably in our situation. 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Great dual-homed router; fantastic customer support By Shane This does exactly what it claims to do, and does it well. I have two internet connections, and this lets me use the combined bandwidth reliably. The firmware is

By Xiomara Cabrera I am so glad I made the decision to buy this cable; I had wireless before and I was losing connection most of the time. After I bought this cable I have not been disconnected once! Cisco-Linksys WRT330N Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router

"The Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router is really four devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100/1000 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together at up to gigabit speeds. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. We've also included a Network Optimizer that applies various Quality of Service (QoS) techniques to your network traffic to make sure that time-sensitive applications like online and local network gaming run smoothly. It automatically determines what data is time-sensitive and what isn't, and prioritizes delivery of that data to its destination, ensuring the best-possible performance for the various types of data that go through your network. The Access Point built into the Router uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios, Wireless-N's ""Multiple In, Multiple Out"" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce ""dead spots"" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to 4 times farther than standard Wireless-G. With Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the router can increase the throughput even more by using twice as much radio band, yielding speeds up to 12 times as fast as standard Wireless-G. To help protect your data and privacy, the Router can encode all wireless transmissions with industrial-strength 128-bit encryption.

I know that it has some bad reviews, but I had to see for myself. As soon as I got it I immediately updated the Firmware. It works great with Vista. I have an Open NAT through XBOX live !!!That's right, OPEN NAT ON XBOX LIVE!!! My VOIP does not have anymore choppy calls. The wireless G strength is just incredible. I am able to get a 54Mbps through 4 concrete walls and then some. This router replaced my WRT54GS ver 6 because of the NAT issue in XBOX live (Moderate NAT). I recommend this product to anyone. I can definitely see this product being XBOX Live certified next quarter. I give it 5 stars because it solved the XBOX live NAT issue and has overall increased my QOS. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great while it lasted, 1.5 years later must be replaced. By Mirrorsaw This router worked really well for quite some time. The wireless strengths is admirable and virtually the same speed as the wired connection. It worked well for a year and a half, but now has some serious problems. I've checked out everything else in the "picture" of my network and I am 100% certain that 1) The router is slowing my internet connection by 60%, seemingly capping downstream at 5000kbps. Plugged into the cable modem, itself, flawless 15000kbps connection. 2) A dozen daily short disconnects caused by my printer being connected via ethernet, removing it solved the problem. 3) Unable to even upgrade the firmware anymore, as the page will allow me to select the file but responds with absolutely nothing. So basically, my router is completely failing at it's job. Now I'm still within the replacement window, but this is not exactly the most comfortable situation to be in - How long is this going to take, and how long is the rest of my family besides me not going to be able to use the internet? So now on top of my connection woes, my family is gonna have to go a week or two without internet. I'm not too happy with this device, which is certainly more expensive than other routers, failing in less than two years. It's just not right, so 3 stars. That, and their tech-support is horrible. They don't even have this router anymore, and when the router they told me they'd replace it with was a WRT310N, a router worth $60 less than the price I paid for the WRT330N and no external antenna. I got pissed and demanded a choice in the matter if I'm going to be "downgraded", and made sure to tell them I wanted a WRT54GL instead, as I know the custom firmware will do its job and give me a good router. Look elsewhere.. 11 of 14 people found the following review helpful. Wireless-N technology is so far the best By House of Woo At first I was leary about getting the Linksys Wireless-N router because there were many reviews that said it wasn't working to their expectations. I received the shipment much earlier from Amazon.com and it arrived in great condition. I followed the instructions that were explicitly provided in the package (along with screen shots) and once I hooked it up, I proceeded to go to the Linksys website to download the latest 1.000.3 version of the firmare for the router. Everything works great. I used to have a Netgear RP614 and I haven't been able to get the 10Mbps that my cable company provides (and I'm paying for it too). I got the cable technician to come check out my box and he said that I need to switch over to Linksys because their cable company uses the Cisco servers. In case you didn't know Cisco is the parent company of Linksys so their hardwares are compatible. Now I get about 9.5 Mbps on my Linksys Wireless-N vs. 7.5 on my Netgear. The wireless transmissions are much faster than the Wireless-G and the security features on this router varies on how much security you actually want to implement. I have a remote office without internet, been using a USB 'Ego' card, this little device just made my while world so much easier, now I can use my office laptop, ipod, printer, share network with visitors when they are in town on business. Battery life is good, I have used in excess of 5 hours but never let it drain all the way, too easy to just plug into laptop while it is sitting on the desk. Even leave it on too and from work, so I can continually get updates while I am stuck in traffic or have to run to a meeting before or during work hours. Device is a bit bigger than some of the new little "mifi" boxes but less than half the price, great range on the wireless N, and great battery life. no complaints. If you go to product webpage they have full listing of compatible USB devices. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good and useful product By ruwan I bought this to share my HTC hero 3G with laptop and iPad via wifi , Original software version was Ver1.0.25, with this version the router crashes and reboot when I connect the iPad. Then I upgraded to Ver1.0.55 and everything works fine. Software upgrade was simple, just download the file in to the computer and select it from the management GUI. what I like abt this product: - wifi tethering with HTC hero connected via USB. Just connect the phone via USB and enable internet sharing in the phone, no other configuration necessary - mini-USB port for charging the Internal battery - multiple WAN options like Ethernet, 3G phone tethering, 3G dongles - charges the connected phone via USB - Indicate whether the batteries are charing by blinking the power LED See all 2 customer reviews...

I ordered 8 of them, all get the job done. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Quality product, excellent transmission rates By Rob Wehrli When I purchased these, I *thought* that I was buying Cat 6, but mistakenly ordered Cat 5 instead. As it turned out, I can't tell the difference in performance between them and my Cat 6 cables...guess that is good news for an otherwise brain fart! See all 6 customer reviews...

The only issue I had was with his ATT DSL user account password. The device would not accept his password that he had used on his ATT 2Wire modem. It simply wouldn't allow it. It kept generating a "Passwords must be in ASCI characters" error message. We called ATT. They were both helpful and patient; they seem trained only to support the 2Wire modem, but they hung with me for over an hour while I got this worked out. They reset the password and generated a new one and within 15 minutes I was on the Internet. When I went to the ATT user account site to change to a new user generated password, the Trendnet modem would not accept the change. The same ASCI character error message. ATT reset the password and generated another new one for me. The modem accepted it and I was online again. Another attempt to setup a user defined password failed again. ATT gave me another new password and I was online quickly again. I gave up on trying to change it. As far as speed, my father in law reports a noticeable improvement over the 2Wire we replaced. As far as features, this device has more than I understand. It has all the latest technologies and is quite configurable. It has switches to toggle Power and WPS and Wireless funtions on the back. The settings for ATT DSL are: Connection to Configure: (VC 1) Connection Method: (Manual) VPI: (0) VCI: (35) Internet login: (PPPoE) DSL Multiplexing: (LLC mode) PPPoE login name: (your primary email address) PPPoe Password: (your primary email password...this is where I had trouble) I have set up Zoom and USRobotic modem routers with less frustration, but the improved speed warrants four stars for this device. I got it for under $100 at a local retailer. Update: I am adding the following solution provided by another, more savvy, user. Thanks "OS". "This modem has some faulty code that does not allow you to use your regular SBC/ATT dsl username/password. The fix is to download the latest firmware patch from Trendnet. Look up this model on the Trendnet website and go to their downloads link. You will see the firmware update that specifically addresses the "Passwords must be in ASCI characters" error everyone seems to be getting when trying to enter their DLS credentials into the router config screens. Download the firmware (which comes with instructions) and install it on the modem. After the firmware is installed, reboot the device and that particular input page will now work as intended. I've done a few Google searches and am amazed that no one has posted this. The patch has been out since May of 09." 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. works great with Telefonica del Peru By Alex Le Bienvenu Works quite well, in use for 6 months. ASked a question to trendnet using the web interface and got an answer in 24 to 48 hours, a satisfactory answer to a question about measuring total trafic monthly (no way to do it thru the router), but at least they answered in a cordial and fast way. Product is stable and has lasted more than certain competitor products. Works perfect with Telefonica del Peru Speedy service. 2 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Junk By Powie The modem didn't even last an hour. I hooked it up, updated the firmware, and proceeded to set the modem up to connect to Qwest DSL, after trying some different settings, the modem rebooted, then would no longer give my computers an IP, after spending 30-40 minutes talking to someone in India they told me the modem was dead and to return it. Ross There isn't much that can go wrong with this kind of item, but I'm still pleased with the quality of the cable and connectors. The cable has been used in a challenging physical and electromagnetic environment for a few years now without a hitch. It was a good value at the time I bought it too. Most helpful customer reviews 88 of 102 people found the following review helpful. Its a pretty great router, but support is weak! By Courtland J. Carpenter I'm a computer professional so technology is not much of a mystery to me, but I still want something that's solid, and easy to manage. The internal software to his unit is pretty good, and the performance is top notch. For one its easy to store, and save your configurations. This is important because there may be occasion where you have to reset the router, and your settings would be lost. The firmware was easy to update, and will need to be updated as soon as you connect the device. A word of caution here, if you are using a dial-up connection, (unless its always been very stable), I don't recommend upgrading the firmware with it. One thing you cannot do, because it will likely render the router useless, is lose your connection in the middle of a firmware upgrade. This is a gamer modem, and the help files and web manual provide good information as to how to set it up. It even has the settings to port replicate many popular game already built in. In addition, it has a special gamer network traffic section to keep your games running on an even keel over your network. I works, but better with some games than others. While I can't speak for any screaming, bleeding edge speed boosters, it seemed fast. I connected my old Windows 98SE machine using a Hawking, USB, wireless receiver, and it just worked! I experienced none of the problems I'd read horror stories about with other wireless routers. Connection is a snap. Disconnect your cable modem from the back of your comp, connects its ethernet cable to your new D-Link router, run the included cable from the D-link to your ethernet port on your comp. (If your computer was connected with USB, you might need a $10 ethernet PCI card if you don't have an ethernet connection.) Turn everything back on, and (at least in my case, it just worked). If your running it as a network, and not just a single firewall, I'd recommend the most modern computer for the wired connection. The rest can either go wired or wireless. I got excellent signal strength, and have yet to experience a dropout on my wireless machine. For those who don't know, a wireless router is normally wired to the first machine (wired connections are generally faster and more solid than wireless). The wireless part is generally for other computers and network devices (like printers and such) to be connected to the wireless part of the network. In the past all connections to a router were wired. If you have one computer you can use an access point, instead of a firewall, but with the exception of this one, (which is expensive) most access points cost near the same as a four port wireless router. Ok, now the bad news. It is a complicated piece of tech, and to do some things, people might need help. My advice is to read the FAQ's, and go to the web boards. I needed to get it to host a BattleNet game. I had the correct ports replicated as an exception, but it didn't work. I called the tech serve, and a typical moron told me how to ping the system with Windows command line. I spent a half hour trying to tell him I was connected fine, and could even play the game I wanted (Warcraft III Frozen Throne), but could not host a game. He couldn't answer a few simple questions, and finally admitted he didn't know anything about networking, but was reading from a test script. He agreed to transfer me to level 2 technicians. When I spoke to them they couldn't answer my questions either, and gave some lame excuse that if they told me how to host on BNet it would make my network insecure, and they would be liable to a lawsuit. Give me a break, you create a gamer router, and even include the ports listed for that game, then won't tell your customers how to set it up. I just don't think they held up their end of the bargain (D-Link support that is). After two days of testing it, I finally figured

They work! I have Internets! I tested the signal all around my house and walked out with my laptop across the street and the signal was still broadcasting strong--so I figure it has a broadcast radius of approximately an acre now--maybe even more. (I figured the woods across the street from my house was a good border at which to stop testing) 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Item doesn't match the picture. By Four20 I thought that I could just screw this onto the back of Linksys wireless router(replacing the antenna). This antenna has some sort of base(and it can't be removed from it, like it can't be unscrewed). . .i think it's for a wireless card, not a router. I repeat! This is NOT the item in the picture. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Quick Change Out & Improved Results.... By Chemboy I was interested in boosting the signal to one of my PCs at home. I have a Linksys wireless ethernet card and the signal was 4 bars. The boss was complaining the signal was "too weak" for her shopping (aka- too slow upon checking out). So, I was in search of an upgraded wireless card but stumbled upon people simply upgrading their antennas instead. I found this one and thought I would give it a try. Very inexpensive way to boost a signal. I received the single antenna about 3 days later. The company I purchased from thru Amazon, Jacobs Parts was very prompt and I received an email the same day that the item had shipped. Here we are today, I received the antenna and installed it within 3 minutes. When I removed the previous antenna from the wireless card, I noticed that the length of the original antenna was a couple of inches taller than the one I received today. I had some hesitation about switching them out, but decided to give it a try anyway. Once the old antenna was removed the signal on my PC dropped immediately. After replacing it with the new antenna, I had to go into the network settings and click on 'trouble shoot' the wireless adapter (Win 7 32-bit Ultimate). Windows found the card with the new antenna and within 1 minute it found the signal. The PC immediately had full bars and upon doing a speed test, I noticed an uninterrupted download / upload test. The PC seem to go thru pages faster. I believe this product works really well for the price...very effective! My next test is to purchase 3 of these antennas for my D-link router. I'm curious now to see my router signal / range will be improved / expanded with the use of these antennas...I will report once I make the purchase and install...Good Luck!! I have squeeze these clips through some narrow spaces with no problems the anti-snag clips work like a charm it did not hook up on anything. Good item good prices and a great deal. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. gets the job done By Heather Sainz ordered the 10ft cables even though I needed only 3 feet because the price was better on the longer ones, overstock maybe? anyway, they work just as you think they would. the only small thing you may want to know is they seem a tiny bit thinner then other patch cables but like i said they work perfectly.
