PRO / CON: - Wireless signal is quite strong and can go long distances. I was early with the Wireless-N, and had one on my new D-Link DIR-635 replacement to buy because it became unstable after the draft is approved. - Gigabit router works well and transfers well between my computer and home file server. You see a green light when you are connected via Gigabit speeds and an orange light if your speed 10/100 Mbps. - For some reason when I have a name server (Open) operation outside of my ISP, the router becomes unstable and disconnected from the Internet occasionally. Using the Front NS as primary and secondary ISPs as seems to solve the problem. - Wireless security (WPA/WPA2) is very easy to install. - The blue flashing light on top of the router is nice, but useless at once Fortunately, there is a switch on the back of the router. - For those who want to save the planet, this device meets the ENERGY STAR rated. UPDATE: I'll give the router 4 out of 5 stars because it is a good router. I have not had any problems since I updated the firmware. In addition, (originally reported 2 of 4) all 4-port Gigabit speed. 38 of 43 people found this review helpful. Not ready for Prime Time WNR3500 WNR3500 by T. McKinney looks good and has a decent wireless range. That's all I can say good things about him. Netgear switches I have used for years with excellent results so WNR3500 also expected to be a high quality product. I have installed and configured the device without much trouble. It's a pretty basic setup with a computer on a wired gigabit a second computer on a wired 100Mb, an 8-port gigabit switch with an average extension and a TV connected to it, and two wireless connections, wireless connections have been for a Wii games console and an iPod Touch. The wireless connection would drop every 3 or 4 minutes and wired connections would fall several times a day. Sometimes the DNS would stop working and that I had to reboot the router and my cable modem to solve the problem. I contacted Netgear support and the first solution was to bring the device back to factory settings and set it again without wireless security. The second solution was to run a different kind of reset the defaults and go through the installation process again. At that time, I read many entries in the user forums where other countries have had the same problems for almost a year with no solution. At this point I decided to return WNR3500 a refund. I replaced it with a Linksys WRT610N, which performed flawlessly until now surf the Internet using the WRT610N is noticeably faster than the Netgear router. At that point, I would not recommend the Netgear WNR3500, unless you want a beta tester for the unit. 29 of 32 people found the following review helpful. For fabulous Lemon Black I consider myself an expert in computers, with built-in 15 PCs and have plenty of upgrades to others. I recently moved to a large apartment, with thick walls that prevented my connection with "G" router in some rooms. I bought this "N" router to discover that I was not much better, "G" signal to get, and I end up buying "N" adapters for my devices. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that, then the signal was dramatically improved while using my "G" adapters. I can not speak, as I facilitate the building does not use the installation wizard, instead of adjusting all settings to the old fashioned way, but it works wonderfully. It has all sorts of priority settings for video, voice chat and online gaming. It has all the current safety standards and provides some advanced tuning it. Also, as others have noted, Netgear gracious.
