Eaton, I would say that the E4200 Router provides a stable connection, about the same throughput performance as NETGEAR 450 Mbps Wireless N750 Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR4000 (a 450 Mbps router), simple installation with Cisco `Connect ', and the absence of LEDs on the front of the router really helps with light pollution on the desktop. Benefits: * Supports 3 data stream (450 Mbps) at 5 GHz band. They tested the throughput of the 5 GHz band was below 129 Mbps and 148 Mbps (Laptop with an Intel 6300 wifi card to a server with a wired connection). About 15% faster than my old WNDR3700 router, but I was hoping for an increase of 50% (300 Mbps -> 450 Mbps). * Easy to install with Cisco `Connect 'application. The application guides you through the introduction of wireless security, parental controls, and the host network. * There are no problems connecting to the router with my PS3 and Windows Home Server and iPhone Vulkano Con: * Only 2 data stream (300 Mbps) in the 24 GHz band of income tested in the 2.4 GHz band, 60 Mbps to 70 Mbps and low * No extra features such as WDS repeat / bridge * WNDR4000 is the best parental controls Summary: Having the E4200 and E4200 WNDR4000 is almost the same performance WNDR4000 (134 Mbps to 140 Mbps and below 5 GHz band). The difference between the two comes down to resources. The E4200 has a large configuration program for a newbie to configure the router with ease. The WNDR4000 offers more useful features, like WDS and repeat traffic meter. The size of the router, I can not really comment on it due to living in a small apartment. Some extra information: One thing I miss in the comparison table `router 'is the processor speed. CPU speed gives an idea about the performance of the router. So here is what I found on the internet E1200 - 300 MHz with 32 MB of RAM and 4 MB Flash E1500 - 300 MHz with 32 MB of RAM and 8 MB of flash memory E2500 - 300 MHz with 64 MB of RAM and 8 MB of E3000 flash memory - 480 MHz with 64 MB of RAM and 8 MB of flash memory E4200 - 480 MHz CPU with 64 MB of RAM and 16 MB Flash 93 of 98 people found the following review helpful. Router with very robust, even if the signal of 5 GHz band and the speed is uneven Jennifer Ray (updated 20/06/11 Revue details added 1.0.02 firmware and support for USB printer to the router E4200. Please see the end of the review of this update.) I have my network at home long before wireless routers are still available (or affordable) for home users via Ethernet to the time and move to wireless, as soon as it was available for home use . Over the years, I almost always used Linksys router, and the few times I've tried other brands, I was immediately apologized and turned to Linksys. I will not say that I have always had great experiences with this manufacturer, but my experience with them has been good enough to position Linksys as a trusted name when I saw the set of features for the new Cisco-Linksys router E4200, was I am more than intrigued, especially by the dual-band functionality and speed potential it offers. As a result, only one of the wireless adapters I already had the support of the 5 GHz band, which was the internal network card in one of my computers. In order to fully test the Linksys E4200, I bought a Cisco-Linksys AE1000 High Performance Wireless-N adapter and connects to each of my computers to test with the new router. The dual-band feature as standard the same SSID for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band This allows a wireless adapter to connect seamlessly to any of those bands that may or may not help if you want to force certain wireless devices to connect through 5 GHz band, which is potentially faster. Fortunately, you can manually enter the names of the two WLAN bands with different SSIDs and easily connect your devices support 5
